His artistry, dazzling technical command, and sensitivity have brought Stanislav, "Stas," Venglevski, a native of the Republic of Moldova, part of the former Soviet Union, increasing acclaim as a virtuoso of the Bayan. Beverley Fess was born in Dunnville, Ontario, Canada. At the age of six Bev started taking accordion lessons and was competing by age seven. During the early years she won numerous solo competitions and was part of many award-winning duet teams, accordion ensembles and accordion orchestras. Not only did she perform in these groups but shortly after she started teaching (at age fourteen) she moved into conducting as well.

Her reaching career started in Ontario and moved west to Alberta in the mid-seventies. At times she taught as many as 125 students per week. She has trained teachers, adjudicated at accordion music festivals, served as a music examiner and sat on the executive committees of several accordion associations. She is a founding member and current board member of the Accordion Association of Calgary and a new appointed board member of the ATG (Accordion Teachers Guild)

In February 2000 Beverley established an accordion orchestra known as Fess ‘n’ Friends based out of Okotoks, Alberta (where she now resides). She continues to direct this group to this day. From early adulthood Bev juggled her teaching and performing responsibilities while pursuing a business career in the Insurance Industry. As of April 2006 she was able to retire from insurance and return to a full time career in music. She spends her time teaching accordion, piano and theory; arranging music; conducting orchestras; and performing. In 2007 she initiated teaching accordion via the Internet. This has proven very successful, reaching students where there are no teachers available and resulting in a large international student body.

For many years she annually coordinated the Accordion Concert Band for the Kimberley International Old Time Accordion Championships – made up of accordionists from all over Canada and the U.S. For several of these years she also served as conductor. In 2011 Beverley became the conductor of the Spokane Accordion Ensemble. She is a frequent instructor at the Silver Falls Accordion Camp in Oregon. She regularly supports and attends music festivals and events worldwide and is a consistent participant in any accordion orchestras at these events.

Beverley has dedicated a great part of her life to music and promoting the accordion and has many award winning students to her credit. In May 2016 she celebrated 50 years of teaching. In recognition of her time and dedication to the instrument she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the ATG in July 2016 and in August 2016 at the Las Vegas International Accordion Convention she was awarded the Art Van Damme Education Award.

In August 2017 we warmly welcome Beverley at AKKORDeMOTION in Central Switzerland and look forward to one week interesting teaching and orchestral time. At the final concert on the Pilatus Berverley will support the participants-orchestra.
